ICET 2009 Test Pattern, ICET 2009 Exam , ICET Osmania Test Pattern

The Icet exam Syllabus or Test Pattern for Icet exam is as follows:

Section - A ( Analytical Ability)

(i) Problem Solving - 55 Questions

a) Sequences and Series

Analogies of Numbers, Analogies of alphabets,

Completion of Blank Spaces following the pattern a:b: : c: : d relationship,

Finding the Odd Man out, missing number in a sequence or a series

b)Data Analysis

Analysing the data given in a Table, Analysing the data given in a Graph

Analysing the data given in a Bar Diagram, Analysing the data in Pie Charts

Analysing Venn Diagrams, Analysing a Passage and answering the questions related to it

c) Coding and Decoding Problems

A code pattern of English Alphabet is given. A given word or a group of letters are to be coded or decoded based on the given code or codes.

d) Date, Time and Arrangement Problems

Calendar Problems, Clock Problems, Blood Relationships, Arrivals, Departures and Schedules, Seating Arrangements, Symbol and notation Interpretation

(ii) Data Sufficiency - 20 Questions

In Data Sufficiency Problems, a question is followed by data in the form of two statements labelled as I and II.

If the data given in I alone is sufficient to answer the question then Choice I is your answer.

If the data given in II alone is sufficient to answer the question then Choice II is your answer.

If both I and II together are sufficient to answer the question but neither statement alone is sufficient then choice 3 is the correct answer.

If both I and II put together are not sufficient to answer the question and additional data is needed then choice (4) is the correct answer.

Section - B ( Mathematical Ability)

(i) Arthimetical abiity - 35 Questions

Laws of Indices, Ratio and Proportion, Surds, Numbers and Divisibility, L.C.M and G.C.D of Numbers, Rational Numbers, Ordering, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Partnerships, Pipes and Ciserns, Time and Distance Problems , Time and Work Problems, Areas and Volumes, Mensuration, Modular Arithmetic.

(ii)Algebraical and Geometrical Ability - 30 Questions

Statements, Truth Tables, Implication, Converse and Inverse, Tautologies - Sets, Relations and Modulus, Quadratic Equations and expressions, Progressions, Binomial Theorem, Matrices, Notion of a Limit and Derivative.

(iii) Statistical Ability - 10 Questions

Frequency Distributions, Mean, Median, Mode, Standard Deviation, Correlation, Simple Problems on Probability.

(iv) Plane Geometry-

Lines, Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Circles, Coordinate Geometry - distance between points and applications, Equation of a line in different forms.

(v) Trignometry

Trignometry ratios, Trigonometric ratios of standard angles (0, 30, 45, 60, 9, 180)

Trignometric Identities

Simple problems on Heights and Distances

Section - C ( Communication Ability)

(i) Vocabulary - 10 Questions

ii) Business and Communication Ability - 10 Questions

iii) Functional Grammer - 15 Questions

IV) Reading Comprehension( 3 Passages) - 15 Questions

ICET 2009 Eligibility, ICET 2009 Exam , ICET Osmania Eligibility

a) The candidates should be Indian Nationals and should satisfy local/non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) order, 1974 as amended upto date. (As per G.O.Ms No.25 dated 19-3-2004 and G.O.Ms No 108, Higher Education Department dated 30-07-2005 and its amendment )

b) The candidates other than Indian nationals should satisfy the rules of the Universities concerned.


c) A pass (or) appearance at the final year examination of Bachelor's Degree (except BOL and BFA) of any University in Andhra Pradesh or any other university recognized as equivalent thereto.


d) The candidates seeking admission into MBA course should have passed a Bachelor's Degree Examination of not less than three years duration from any recognized University or equivalent thereof besides passing SSC or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects.


e) The candidates seeking admission into MCA course should have passed Bachelor's Degree Examination of not less than 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level (OR) should have passed Bachelor's Degree Examination of not less than 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects.


f) The candidates who are appearing for the final year degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for ICET exam

g) Admission into any college depends on its recognition/affiliation by the respective Statutory Bodies.


Note : The Convener ICET-2008 reserves the right to reject the application of the candidate any stage if

(a) The application is incomplete or filled by others, (b) the application is not signed, (c) the candidate fails to satisfy the eligibility conditions, (d) any false or incorrect information is furnished, (e) the entries in the application form are illegible, and (f) the application is received after the last date and time notified.

Above are the eligibility criteria for Icet - 2008 exam. For Icet 2009 most of these would be same and if any change is mentioned at that time Icet.co.in will change it accordingly.

Icet exam is conducted every year in the month of May for entry into MBA and MCA courses in various colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Every year, any one of the participating Universities will be entitled the resIn the year 2008, A.P Council of Higher Education, Government of A.P., has entrusted the responsibility of conducting ICET-2008 to Osmania University.Accordingly, Osmania University has nominated Prof. D.N. Reddy, Principal, University College of Engineering, Osmania University as Convener, ICET-2008 and Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University as Chairman, ICET-2008. Now it is time for the aspirants to rush for Icet - 2009.
