How to apply online for taking ATMA?
The admission kit contains the following:
1. Bulletin with information about ATMA.
2. An envelope in which there will be an adhesive sticker with Personal ID code printed on it.
* When you purchase ATMA admission kit, you will be given a receipt by the sales centre. The same is required to be submitted to the invigilator at the time of examination along with the admit card.
* Inside the admission kit, there will be an envelope containing self adhesive sticker with Personal ID code printed on it. For applying online, candidates should log on to ATMA website www.atma-aims.org. The specimen online application form for ATMA with duly filled in data of a specimen candidate is enclosed in the Annexure II of the bulletin. Please read it carefully before filling in the online application form which is provided on the website. Please download a copy of the filled up online application for your reference.

About ATMA - AIMS Test for Management Admissions
The members of Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) have for long felt the need for a high quality test, the scores of which can be used in their admission process, as a reliable predictor of academic performance in post-graduate management programmes. In response to this need, AIMS offers the AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA), as a credible, comprehensive and single-window test for admissions to different postgraduate management programmes. The administration and scoring is professionally done, and the results obtained are item-analysed by a faculty team to ensure discriminating validity of the items, and of the test as a whole. This has been an ongoing process over the last six years, so that it can be claimed that the ATMA scores supplied are highly dependable indicators of the candidate’s suitability for management education and career. The candidates will be supplied with the percentile scores in comprehension, verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, analysing and synthesizing ability.
ATMA has been approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India for admission on All India Basis to the MBA / PGDM and other Postgraduate Programmes like MCA.
The first test was conducted on Sunday, February 20, 2000. and then on January 21, 2001, May 20, 2001, February 10, 2002, February 9, 2003, February 8, 2004, May 23, 2004, February 6, 2005, February 12, 2006, February 11, 2007 and February 10, 2008. The next ATMA, the twelfth in the series will be held on Sunday February 08, 2009.

The Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) was formed in 1988 as a network of management schools in the country at the National Conference of the Heads of Management Education Institutions on "National Education Policy and its Implications for Management Education in the Country" held at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore in April 1988

Mission
The Mission of AIMS is to function as the professional association of management education concerned with quality of management, manpower training and development, management research, curriculum development and take all such steps on its own or in collaboration with other agencies for the promotion of Management Education in India.
Vision
AIMS must function as the true representative body of management education in the country, safeguarding the interests of the sector and contributing to quality improvement on a continuing basis. AIMS must make determined efforts to develop and project its identity as the national network of the management schools system in India with its presence, voice and impact felt that respected in relevant national management and policy fora. This would call for rededicated commitment to its mission and well articulated programmes of action.
Aims, Objectives and Activities
* To provide a dynamic network of institutions engaged in Management Education, Training and Research in India.
* To contribute to the development of Management Education, in all its aspects, both qualitatively and quantitatively and to help maintain and improve standards of teaching, research and examination.
* To undertake, organize and facilitate training programmes for in-service personnel and their professional development.
* To help in the accreditation process of Management Education Institutions by suggesting specific criteria and evaluation standards of institutions and their programmes.
* To undertake and provide for the publication of newsletters, journals or other communications for dessimination of ideas and developments in the field of Management Education to member institutions.
* To institute or cause to set up local/regional chapters at convenient locations in India and to promote the objects of the Association more effectively.
* To cooperate, collaborate and interact with other Associations or Societies - National and International - for helping the cause of Management Education and Research, including training and consultancy.
* To take steps for the development of management literature, case studies, teaching materials, books, etc., relevant to the Indian context.
* To actively promote linkages between Management Education Institutions and Industry, Business and Government.
* To strengthen institutional capabilities through faculty development, faculty exchange and enable better use of infrastructural facilities.
* To organize seminars, conferences, management training, research, consultancy and publication activities in furtherance of the objectives of the Association.
* To launch common management training, research and consultancy ventures outside India on its own or in collaboration with other management institutions and networks, industries, inter-governmental agencies and other funding organizations.
* To associate and work in close collaboration with International Management Networks with a view to furthering the cause of Management Education and Management Development world-wide.
Collaborations
AIMS has a long standing collaboration with Canadian Consortium of Management Schools (CCMS) on Management Education with funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). A number of joint activities such as Case Development Workshops, Research Workshops, etc., are being carried out under this project.

* AIMS is an active participant in the Global Forum on Management Education. It participated in the last Forum held in Bangkok in June, 2002 and in Santiago, Chile in Oct. 2005.

The main brochure and the information brochure for the B.Tech. programme–2009, along with the necessary enclosures which include the Application Form and a printed self–addressed envelope, can be obtained against cash payment of Rs.750/– from the various post offices as mentioned in the VIT website: www.vit.ac.in
Candidates can obtain the application form in person from the VIT University at Vellore or from the Administrative Office, New No. 6, (Old No. W–73), Second Street (Opposite Towers Club), Anna Nagar, Chennai – 600 040 (Phone: 044–42016555, 65480555, Fax: 044–26222555), by handing over a Demand Draft for Rs.750/– drawn in favour of “VIT University”, payable at Vellore.

Admission to B.Tech. Degree Programme is based on VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) conducted all over India.
Eligibility
Eligibility
- A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB)
- A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Students hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and from the North Eastern States of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh
- Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes
- Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Biotechnology & Biomedical Engineering programmes
