MAH -MBA/MMS-CET 2008 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q.1) I am a reserved category MS candidate, I have secured 39%
marks in aggregate at Graduation and 49% marks in aggregate at
Post Graduation. Am I eligible to appear at MAH-MBA/MMSCET
2008?
Ans. Yes, you are eligible. Refer rule No. 2.1


Q.2) I have passed my Graduation in more than one attempt with
more than minimum percentage of marks. Am I eligible to appear
at MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2008?
Ans. Yes, you are eligible to appear at CET, however your
admission will be subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criteria of
the University wherein you may get the admission. Candidates are
advised to approach eligibility section of the respective University
(wherein the candidate is interested to get the admission) and get
the provisional eligibility certificate issued well before the
commencement of the CAP.


Q.3) I am Maharashtra State candidate and have not appeared for
the All India CET [CAT/XAT/ JMET/ATMA/MAT(held in Feb.
2008)]. Is it necessary for me to appear at MAH-MBA/MMS-CET
2008?
Ans. Yes, it is necessary. You have to register and appear for both
MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2008 and GD,PI.


Q.4) I have appeared for one of the All India CETs [CAT/XAT/
JMET/MAT(held in Feb. 2008)/ATMA]. Is it necessary for me to
appear at MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2008?
Ans. No, it is not necessary to appear at MAH-MBA/MMS-CET
2008.

  • Your score of All India CET will be valid for the admission provided the score is more than the cut-off.
  • However you have to register both for MAH-MBA/MMSCET 2008 as well as for GD&PI.
  • Further it is mandatory to appear for the GD&PI conducted by Competent Authority of State of Maharashtra for seeking admission through CAP.
Q.5) What is meant by the Cut-off mark in CET?
Ans. The cut-off marks in CET are the minimum score by the
candidate which makes the candidate eligible to seek the
Admission to MBA/MMS course in the State of Maharashtra. The
cut-off mark in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2008 is 20 marks out of
200. In case of All India CETs [CAT/XAT/ JMET/MAT(held in
Feb. 2008)/ATMA] or GMAT the Cut-off is the percentile in these
CETs equivalent to percentile corresponding to 20 marks in MAHMBA/
MMS-CET 2008.

Q.6) My score is less than cut-off in the CET. Can I participate in
GD, PI? Will my name appear in Merit List?
Ans. You are permitted to participate in GD&PI provided you
have registered for the same. However your name will not appear
in Merit list and you are not eligible to get admission to
MBA/MMS course in the State of Maharashtra.

Q. 8) I am OMS candidate and have appeared for All India CET and
also for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2008, how my merit will be decided
for ALL India Seats?
Ans. If you have scores in both of the CETs then best of the two scores
shall be considered for deciding the merit for ALL India Seats subject
to the fulfillment of condition of the cut-off marks.


Q.9) What is the importance of registration for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET
2008? Is it necessary to register for CET even if I have appeared for All
India CET?

Ans. Registration for MAH-CET is Mandatory for all candidates
irrespective of their appearance in All India CET. Such candidates may
not appear for MAH-CET 2008 , however they are required to appear
for GD & PI .

Q.10) Which one of the scores of the MAT exams is considered valid?
Ans: For the year 2008-09, the score of the MAT being held in February
2008 will be considered valid.

Q.11) When do I need to submit documents? What is the last date of
submission of documents?

Ans. The documents are required to be submitted during the Stage of
verification and registration for Centralized Admission Process. This
stage is scheduled in May 2008. Candidates are required to arrange for
the requisite documents in time (preferably before 30th April 2008). No
documents will be accepted after the last date for the verification and
confirmation of the Application form for Centralized Admission
Process at ARC. Exact schedule for this activity displayed on this web
site.

No documents are required to be submitted at the time of online
Registration for CET or at the time of online Registration for GD&PI.
However personal details such as name (as appearing on the marklist
of Std. X), email-id, birth date, permanent address, phone no. etc. are
to be entered correctly at the time of Registration for CET. No change
is these personal details will be permitted and the candidate alone
will be responsible for issues arising out of errors in such entries.

Q.12) I am J &K Migrant candidate. Which rules should I refer to?

Ans. Refer rule 1.3.2 for seats available, rule 2.1 and 2.4 for the
eligibility, rule 6.3 for the Admissions Process and Annexure-I for
steps of registration for CET, GDPI etc.


Q.13) Where do I need to submit my Work experience certificates?
Ans. Candidates having valid work experience certificates should
send their original Work Experience certificates (strictly as per the
proforma-G) by registered post to following address, so as to reach on
or before 31st May 2008.

Marks for work experience will be awarded only after the scrutiny of
the certificates received and same will be displayed on the website.
Note: Work Experience certificates which are not as per proforma
will be rejected and no marks on account of work experience will be
awarded to such candidates.

Q.14)Which are different online Forms to be submitted and
activities to be carried out?
Ans: In order to participate in the CAP, aspiring candidate has to fill
in and confirm:-

  • Online Application form for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2008 i.e. Register for CET.
  • Online Application form for GD, PI i.e. Register for GDPI.
  • Updation, Confirmation and verification of documents at ARC for Centralized Admission i.e. Register for CAP.
  • Online Option form for CAP Round-I/II/III
  • Attend the CAP Round –IV for personal counseling.

Documents required during the Admission Process for MBA CET 2009

Documents required during the Admission Process

1. Documents required at the time of verification and confirmation of “Application form for Admission (CAP)” at ARC:

Candidates are required to carry original documents for verification and submit attested zerox
copies of the following certificates at the time of confirmation of CAP Application form at the
ARC.

  1. Certificate of Indian Nationality# in the name of the Candidate
  2. Statement of marks of HSC and SSC
  3. Statement of marks for the Bachelor’s Degree Examination (i.e. the qualifying Degree examination) in case the candidate has passed the bachelor’s degree examination (Candidates who have appeared for final year degree examination have time limit up to 30th September, 2008 to produce the same).
  4. Caste certificate (if applicable)
  5. Non Creamy Layer certificate valid upto 31st March 2009 (if applicable)
  6. Domicile certificate (if applicable), clearly indicating the place of permanent residence of the candidate/father or mother or Husband
  7. Certificates in Proforma A, B, C, D, E and F as applicable.
  8. Receipt of payment made at post office
  9. Any other relevant document

  1. GDPI Call Letter.

  1. All original certificates & Attested True copies of (Marklists, MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2008 score card, Work Experience, Caste, Non Creamy Layer certificate valid upto 31st March 2009 , Domicile, Proforma (A~E) etc.) as applicable.
  2. Any other relevant document

Note:

1. The certificate of Indian Nationality is part of the Domicile certificate, which is usually
issued by the Tahsildar/Executive Magistrate/Dy. Collector of the concerned district/Taluka. In
lieu of the “Certificate of Indian Nationality” following certificates/documents will also be
acceptable-
  • The School leaving Certificate indicating the Nationality of the candidate as ‘Indian’.
  • Indian Passport in the name of the candidate, issued by appropriate authorities.
2. No documents are needed at the time of filling up of Online form for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET
2008. However no change in the information once filled is permitted at a later date.

3. Candidates are required to keep the documents ready at the time of filling up of “Application
Form for Admission”. (Tentatively scheduled in the month of May 2008) MAH-MBA/MMS -CET 2008

ADMISSIONS TO FIRST YEAR OF FULL TIME POST GRADUATE DEGREE COURSE IN MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2009-2010

Candidates seeking admission to AICTE approved MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA Courses are hereby informed that a Common Entrance Test (CET) FOR ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR OFMBA/ MMS/ PGDBM /PGDBA COURSE FOR THE YEAR 2009-2010
Candidates seeking admission to AICTE approved full time MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA course are hereby informed that Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted as per the schedule given below:

CET Date of MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2009 15th February 2009 (Sunday)
Read Original Notification.

The detailed notification regarding availability of information brochure, filling up on-line CET Application form, eligibility criteria etc. will be published in leading newspapers and will also be available on the official web site www.dte.org.in/mba in the month of January 2009.

Admission to first year of two year full time post graduate degree courses in Management namely Master of Business Administration (MBA) / Master of Management Studies (MMS) and Post Graduate Diploma Courses in Business Management (PGDBM)/Business Administration (PGDBA).

The institutes which qualify for the admission process as per these rules are:

• Approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

• Recognised by the Government of Maharashtra.

• Affiliated to any one of the ten Non Agricultural / Non Technological Universities in Maharashtra state.

Following are the types of Institutes in the Maharashtra state covered by these rules;

a) All Government Management Institutes

b) All University Departments of Management

c) All University Managed Management Institutes

d) All Unaided Management Institutes whose Association has given consent to participate in the CAP rounds conducted by the State Government.

The admission to the courses MBA/MMS is centralized and is covered under Centralized Admission Process (CAP) carried by the Competent Authority of the State of Maharashtra.
